This conviction is the base of the complete range of the Dr. Juchheim products. In the 30 years of his work, Jürgen Juchheim MD has always put emphasis on the connection of high tech and traditional ancient knowledge about health from many cultures. He was already applying the knowledge of Ayurveda long before it was wide spread in the Western World. During his extended trips trough Africa he discovered in desert areas the old wisdom of healing of the local people. They showed him how they use desert plants to heal their wounds as well as for skin care. The incredible possibilities of the desert plants fascinated him immediately and he started to research deeply in this field. Desert plants hydrate and regenerate the skin within a short time and make it smooth and beautiful. The substance Rhizobian Gum is responsible for this effect which is created by micro-organisms in the roots

Besides working with traditional healing and caring methods, Jürgen Juchheim always integrates the newest discoveries of science and research into the development of new products. A study of Hyaluronic acid was path-breaking when it was discovered that when it is encapsulated into Liposomes it is able to penetrate into the deeper tissue of the skin and to replenish the skin’s natural Hyaluronic acid.

Further research confirmed that a combination of Hyaluronic acid, active plant substances and peptides will smooth and rejuvenate the skin within minutes. All these results can now be achieved without any injections of Hyaluronic acid which, in the past required a visit to the doctor!

Based on all this knowledge, Jürgen Juchheim started extended application studies. It took 3 years until all data was interpreted and the legal constraints were fulfilled.

Desert plants- the experts in water conservation

Besides using high-tech ingredients in a new way, Dr. Juchheim products are based mainly on traditional natural processes; nature uses different possibilities and ingenious tricks which no human mind has ever been able to create. One clear example is the ability of some plants to store humidity and to keep an elastic surface. The exact same result we also wish to achieve in skin care!

Desert plants are perfect artists of survival and can exist under the most adverse circumstances. Phases of extreme temperatures and long droughts force them to develop amazing abilities so that they can survive even under the dryest desert conditions. Their cells contain certain substances which enable them to bind great amounts of humidity, therefore the plant is protected from drying out even without water. Nature’s ability to store life essential humidity has fascinated Jürgen Juchheim and has crucially influenced the development of his innovative products. Substances of desert plants finally could be proved and isolated thanks to long-term experience and new technologies in research. When incorporated into skin care products, they have the same amazing effect... just like a tree in the desert.

Rhizobian Gum

Another trick of nature is Rhizobian Gum. This substance is produced by micro-organisms in the roots of desert plants. It has the consistency of gel and envelops the roots so that they don’t dry out. In this way the plant can survive over a long period of time without water. People in Africa have used Rhizobian Gum since primeval times for skin care and to treat wounds of the skin. Just as the gel protects the roots of the plants, by treating skin with this plant substance it, too, remains supple and youthfully soft. On my travels throughout the world I regularly observe how perfectly nature has balanced everything. For me as a Medical Doctor this is a lesson as well as a hope.

Reflecting layers of wax

To protect themselves from intense sunlight, as well as high temperatures, plants create a reflecting laminate of wax: a grey, bright, surface and a slim, vertical figure. In this way less parts of the plant are exposed to sunlight. Many are also barbed with spikes or hair which reflect the sunlight and shade the surface of the plant. A well-known example of a reflective surface are the leaves of the Aloe Vera plant.

A water reservoir in the stem

Tree-succulents, water-storing plants and big cactuses, all have developed a sponge-like tissue in their stems. With this they can store large amounts of water. Some tree-succulents drop their leaves during extremely long droughts to reduce the loss of water.

Depth and far- reaching roots

In many deserts and grass-covered plains, at the depth of 90 – 300ft. there are some water reserves from more humid times. In order to reach this water, some plants develop deep taproots. In this way some species are even able to have green leaves all year round. The Umbrella Thorn Acacia has formed a somewhat different process: it survives with the minimal humidity which is found everywhere in the ground. To use this type of humidity, the tree has developed an incredibly widely-branched, deep root system, sometimes traveling more than 100 feet.

The Guggul Tree (Commiphora mukul)

The East-Indian Guggul tree is a medicinal plant which has been used for thousands of years in Ayurvedic medicine. Botanically, it belongs to the myrrhe family and therefore, is also called the East-Indian Myrrhe. The resin of this tree is mainly used in medicine and cosmetics. In Ayurvedic medicine the resin of the Guggul tree is used for a wide range of diseases: from arthritis to skin and bone inflammations as well as for fat metabolism in the overweight. Western medicine meanwhile has confirmed a cholesterol reducing impact of the resin. The main active substances are steroids, the so called Guggulsterones.

In spite of all the knowledge in the field of modern technology about substances and naturopathic medicine, it is certain that not everything has been discovered yet! Therefore, in the coming years we can count on some new pioneering developments in the laboratory of Dr. Juchheim. Science obviously has not yet discovered everything, but I am sure that nature offers everything that humans need for staying healthy and for beauty care. Therefore, for my products, the ancient knowledge of Ayurveda is one thing I draw upon.
